Water Meters
Water has always been an important source of need for human life. Water is reached through various sources. With plumbing systems, water is provided to homes, workplaces, schools and many other points. The device that allows measuring water is a water meter. When the water meter is used, it is determined how much water is consumed in the installation. In this way, the water usage fee is collected. These meters are connected to the inlet of the water system.
There are many different types of water meters that vary according to their working principles. Although the types are different, each water meter shows the value in cubic meters of the amount of water used. As the model of the water meter changes, its features and usage areas may differ. Water meters provide accurate monitoring of water usage. Water meters are also important for charging water usage. The use and assembly of the products differ according to the variety.
Cold Water Meter
Water meters are generally available in two different forms, cold water meter and hot water meter. Which of these varieties is preferred depends on which water is being measured. Because the working principle and usage patterns of both devices differ. Some water meters have the feature of measuring both hot and cold water. Such products are advantageous as they allow the measurement of both types of water with a single product. However, in such products, the maximum temperature of the water to be measured is usually limited.
Wet impellers are generally used in cold water meters because wet impellers have a low pressure loss feature. There is a propeller inside this water meter. The passing water turns the impeller and in this way the water is measured. The number of turns of the propeller is directly proportional to the passing water. As the propeller rotates with the water, a movement occurs. This movement is transmitted to the gear mechanism. These counters are chosen depending on where they will be used. For example, while the cold water meters used at home are smaller, the water meters used in the workplaces should be larger.
Hot Water Meter
The hot water meter is a type of meter that measures the amount of water passing through the water inlet line in cubic meters or liters. A hot water meter is preferred to measure water at high temperatures. Domestic hot water meters often have dry impellers to store hot water consumption. There are hot water meters suitable for all kinds of mounting diameters and shapes. The use of a hot water meter, which provides the calculation of hot water consumption, is very practical.
The counter direction of the hot water meter and the flow direction of the water should be in the same direction. For the most accurate use, meter installations should be horizontal and calculation units should be vertical. Installing a check valve on the branches before the water meter is installed will prevent reverse flow of water. After the hot water meter is placed, the device should be left open. In this way, communication problems do not arise.
It is important to determine the intended use of the meter. A model with a suitable indicator can be found for this intended use. The technical characteristics of the water meters and the characteristics of the water to be measured must be compatible. In addition, each water meter has certain pressure ranges to operate. Therefore, it is useful to choose a water meter that is suitable for the pressure of the water.
Heat Meter
A heat meter is used to determine the amount of heat consumption and to measure heat. Another name for the heat meter is the calorimeter. The heat meter is a meter used in central heating systems. It is used as a measuring instrument that allows to calculate how much energy each section consumes. The consumption rate of the amount of heat in heating and cooling systems is measured by the heat meter. It is mostly used for systems with central heating system and installation structure collector.
Heat meters are devices with great functions. They are important to accurately measure the amount of consumption when energy costs increase. Moreover, they perform this measurement quite simply. The heat meter measures the flow temperature and the return temperature by using temperature sensors. It then calculates what the difference is. In addition, it measures the flow so that the amount of energy consumed is calculated.
Installation of the heat meter is carried out quite easily. It is important to clean the installation before installation. The heat meter must be mounted on the return line. During installation, the flow direction of the water should be considered. After the installation process is completed, the maintenance of the installation should be done regularly. In addition, the device should be left open to avoid any problems.
